The Lees



These are the descendants of John Lee. Proving ties among Lees in Virginia is a real bear, especially with certain first names---there are an awful lot of these folks. I've been told that John is likely the son of Richard Henry Lee and Mary Gresham of Buckingham County, but have no evidence; neither have I seen any evidence that this Richard Henry Lee is kin to the famous one of Revolutionary War history. Family story asserts a tie to the Lees of Virginia, and it may be there, but the link is not found, whether or not RH is John's father.

Documentation of relationships is variable, not all these links are certain. Please don't take this site as "gospel" but rather as "to the best of my knowledge right now."
