Throughout the decades and centuries, the funeral industry has attempted to stay current with societal changes and needs.  From types of services offered, to the number of "viewing" days families need, funeral directors attend to family needs with as much attention and compassion as if the deceased person was still living.

One big change in the 21st Century has been the ever-increasing popularity and use of the Internet. Many (not all) funeral businesses have established websites over the past five years; more come online each year, it seems. 

Funeral directors use the Internet as one more extension of making information and contact convenient to families, and to keep information flowing to friends and extended family.  One big service offered online is a copy of current deaths through an obituary, plus maintaining an archives of previous obituaries.  While not all funeral homes have an online repository of these, most do at least post the most current deaths.  The majority of the homes also 

As I searched the Internet to create a list of funeral businesses and to gather ownership histories on each one, I noted the URLs to obituary pages or notification services.  Many websites offer an Internet visitor the an E-Mail Notification of new obituaries as they are posted.  Here are URLs to most of the Funeral Home Obituary pages.
