Alphabetical listing - "S" names ONLY

PLEASE NOTE: I have received additional information and corrections for some of these burials.  If you use the master list of burials in West Finley Cemetery for Letter "S", you should also take a moment to look over the corrections below.

Updates and corrections:

Name Forename Parents Date of Death Date of Birth Place of Death Correction Submitted By
Sprowls Margaret O. d/o Jacob and Mary Rockey SAMPSON  7 Feb 1957 11 March 1878 W.Finley Ruth Sprowls
Source for corrected information:

I  have Margaret Olive SAMPSON born March 11, 1878 and died Feb. 05, 1957.  She was a daughter of Jacob SAMPSON and Eleanor ROCKEFELLER.  She married in 1903 to Jesse SPROWLS.  (I located an article on their 50th anniv. in 1953 stating Jesse was also celebrating his 85th b'day, so he was born about 1868).

I found Jesse buried in West Finley Cem.  (Jesse Sprowls, b. 1868 - d. March 8, 1957, son of JOhn Sprowls and Hannah REED).

In searching the West  Finley Cem. listing for Margaret Olive (Sampson) Sprowls I did find a Margaret O. Sprowls with the same birth and death dates as listed in the Sampson tree.   HOWEVER,  her parents are listed as Jacob PLANTS and Mary ROCKEY.

I have the obit for Margaret O. Sprowls and her parents are listed as Jacob and Mary Rockey SAMPSON.  I have found 2 trees for the Sampson family and they both list Jacob Sampsons wife as Eleanor Rockefeller - I searched all census records and she is always listed as Eleanor or Ellen or Ella - never as Mary and never with an initial of M.

So if you could make a memo after the addendum that census records show Mary Rockey as Eleanor - Ellen and Ella with the surname listed as Rockeyfeller, Rockey, and Rockefeller.

My sources are :
-Obit for Margaret O. Sprowls Feb. 5, 1957, unknown newspaper
-Census records for 1850 thru 1920
-Family tree for Scott A. Sampson found online and an unknown submitter tree found at Ancestry.com for Sampson family

Can anyone verify the parents of Margaret?  And are the parents of Jesse correct.  Any info on this family gladly appreciated.  Margaret and Jesse are parents of Violet M. NEWMAN that just passed away this week.

Thank you - you can include my email address with any addendums if you like -
Ruth Sprowls
