Information Card for Hilldale Cemetery

Washington County, Pennsylvania Cemetery Database  compiled by Gina Nestor, 2001.

Cemetery Name: Robb Cemetery was Hilldale Cemetery

Address: off Hudson St., north of McDonald PA in Allegheny Co., PA

Phone: N/A

Location: 1 mile north of McDonald, PA. Cemetery is located in N. Fayette Twp., Allegheny Co., just over the Washington Co., PA line, by maybe a 100 feet.

Directions: Looking at a map of McDonald, PA, Washington Co., find Valley Street, then follow it out and look for the intersection with Hudson Ave. on the right. If you turn off Valley on to Hudson, go up the hill to an unmarked gate on the left. There is a small, fenced off road to the left that goes to the cemetery.  Cemetery cannot be seen from the road. The house on this corner on the left belonged to my recently deceased Uncle Ed. I played in that cemetery with my cousins when we were children. I understand that there is someone from another town who has been taking care of it. I believe the most recent burials are from the 1980's. The burials were mostly Belgians, French and Afro-American. My mom says that there is a civil war burial there, but I don't remember ever seeing it. (Information submitted by Barbara Bee and Vickie Valentine.)

Background:  Mostly French and Belgian graves dating from 1900-1994. Over one hundred burials.
