The "Flu" - It's consequences in Forest City, PA.

 

In the fall of 1918, the "flu" which was raging throughout the United States, reached it's peak in Forest City. On October 24th, the high school was converted into an emergency hospital to care for all those who fell victim to this catastrophe. The unofficial estimate of deaths attributed to this month-long deluge was 150.
