William Phillips deceased } Will. I William Phillips of Drumore Township, Stone mason, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.

And first, I direct that my body be decently interred according to the rites and ceremonies of the neighborhood, and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life And as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows: First I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible and for that purpose I direct that my Executors sell all my personal property (excepting such articles hereafter bequeathed to my beloved wife if she shall be living at the time of my decease) and collect all money due me either by bond note or book accounts, and if the personal property will not pay the debts and expenses, I direct that my son, Joseph pay the remaining debts out of my Real Estate.

And I bequeath to my son Joseph all my Real Estate subject to the following bequests

First, I bequeath to my beloved wife the use of the front room of the mansion house during her natural life with all the priveledges of going out and in, water to that is necessary for a house, and her choice of one pair of bedsteads beds and bedding, six chairs, one table, one chest one stove and such cooking aperatus as she will need for herself, and shovel and tongs, and I direct that my son Joseph pay her sixty dollars $60. Pr. Year every year of her natural life (quarterly if she desire it). Also I bequeath for the use of my son Thomas one hundred and fifty $150 to be paid out of my Real Estate by my son Joseph, one hundred to be paid in one year after my decease and fifty dollars $150 at the decease of my beloved wife if she shall survive me, but if she shall not survive me the whole amount to be paid at the end of one year from my decease. To be paid to my son William for to pay for a piece or parcel of land, for the use of Thomas during his natural life, and at his death to go to his children. Also I bequeath to my son William two hundred dollars $200. to be paid by my son Joseph out of my Real Estate one hundred thirty three dollars and thirty three and one third cents $133.33 1/3 to be paid in one year after my decease and sixty six dollars and sixty six two third cents $66.66 2/3/100 to be paid at the decease of my beloved wife if she shall survive me but if she shall not survive me, the whole amount to ba paid at the end of one year from my decease. Also, I bequeath to my son David, one hundred and fifty dollars $150. And my son Clark one hundred and fifty dollars $150, and all my wearing apparel. To my son James one hundred and fifty dollars $150. To my son Wesley one hundred and fifty dollars $150. To my son Harvey one hundred dollars $100. To my son Edward one hundred dollars $100. And to my son Benjamin one hundred dollars $100. to be paid by my son Joseph out of my Real Estate, two thirds of each sum to be paid at the end of one year from my decease, and the one third of each sum at the decease of my beloved wife if she survive me, but if she shall not survive me, the whole amount to be paid at the end of one year from my decease. And I direct that my Executors do give up to my daughter Matilda McKimm or her husband David McKimm the note I hold against them for one hundred dollars $100. that being for her portion of my Estate. And the share of my Real and personal Estate thus bequeathed to my wife to be in lieu of her dower at common Law, if she shall so elect.

And I do hereby make and ordain my son Joseph Philips and my esteemed neighbor John Hastings, Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof, I William Phillips the Testator, have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence } William Phillips {seal} Of us who have subscribed in the presence of each other} Witness present Samuel Crawford David McKim

Lancaster County ss: On the 10th February A.D. 1851 Before me the subscriber personally appeared Samuel Crawford and David McKimm the subscribing witnesses to the preceding will, who after being duly affirmed did depose and say, that they were present and saw and heard William Phillips the Testator therein named sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and Testament, and that at the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
