JOHN PORTER

In the name of god amen the sixteenth day of November one thousand seven hundred and sixty three I JOHN PORTER of the Township of Drumore in the County of Lancaster and province of Pennsylvania farmer being very sick and weak in body . . .

Imprimis: I give and bequeath to REBECCA my dearly beloved wife one half of the Plantation and at her Death to will it to wome she pleases and also the half of all my moveable goods and effect . . .

Item: I also give and bequeath to my well beloved son THOMAS PORTER the other half of my Plantation with the other half of all my moveable Effects....

Item. I give and bequeath to my well beloved grandson JOHN PORTER five pounds

I also give and bequeath to my grandson JOHN PRICE the sum of five pounds.

I also give and bequeath to my grandson JOHN MITCHELL the sum of five pounds.

I also give and bequeath to my grandson JOHN WHITESIDEthe sum of five pounds.

I also give and bequeath to my grandson JOHN PORTER the sum of five pounds which sums I allow to be paid of the whole head.

I also give and bequeath to my well beloved son WILLIAM PORTER the sum of three pounds to be paid also of the whole head.

I also give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter VIOLET the young bay mare of two years old which I except out of my fore mentioned goods.

Subscribers: THOMAS WHITESIDE; SAMUEL MCCONNELL and THOMAS JOB.

June 17, 1765 THOMAS WHITESIDE and THOMAS JOB personallly appear and declare will valid.

June 17, 1765 In the matter of the will and testament of JOHN PORTER late of Drumore Township in the County of Lancaster Yeoman deceased was proved in due form... and letters of Administration granted to REBECCA PORTER and THOMAS PORTER, JOSEPH MORRISON and THOMAS [?] MORRISON having relinquished on March 2, 1765.
