SCOTT .. I believe it was my 6th-great-grandfather SAMUEL SCOTT who died intestate in Little Britain Township in 1757. His son John Scott was named administrator. Other sons were James (d. 1765), William, and (I think) Samuel Scott (my 5th-gg). Samuel was probably the first to leave the area, possibly for NC about 1763. John seems to have remained in Little Britain until 1773. This family is probably related to other SCOTT families in Little Britain during that period: namely, Thomas Scott (d. 1789), John Scott (to NC in 1763), Samuel Scott (d. 1777), and Alexander Scott (d. 1777). This John Scott died in Guilford County, NC in 1774. His widow and three sons migrated to Washington County, VA in the 1770's. Thomas Scott's sons Andrew, Matthew, and Gabriel all appear in Guilford County, where the first two died in the early 1780's; Gabriel also migrated to Washington County, VA. Other Little Britain names of interest: CHRISTY, NELSON, McCREE, GILCHRIST, RIPPEY, WARDEN, and ISAAC WILLIAMS. I have found a nu mber of Little Britain families in Guilford County, NC and vicinity, including PATRICK and DILWORTH. Dwight Scott Dwight Scott

SIMMONS I'm looking for the links for the Stockton, Simmons, DuBree, Fitzgerald, and Russell Families. I located my Gggrandmother's (Ida Simmons Fitzgerald) father in the 1870 federal census. His name was George Simmons and wife was Mary. In the 1850 federal census, I found George's father's and mother's names (James and Sarah A. --I think, DuBree). James father's name was Robert Simmons. Does anyone have any hard information linking Robert Simmons to Samuel Simmons and Jane Stockton Simmons as his parents? My father-in-law told me once that his Grandmother, Mary Simmons, wife of Robert Lockard Russell(his Grandfather), was a cousin to my Gggrandmother Ida Simmons Fitzgerald. Does anyone have hard information linking Mary Simmons with my Gggrandmother Ida? My Gggrandmother, Ida, was married to David S. Fitzgerald and they lived in Christiana/Sadsbury Twp. It seems that David was a machinist as was his father-in-law, George (Ida's father). Ida celebrated her 98th Birthday Party in 1953 at the Christiana Fire Hall. There were five generations: Ida G. (Simmons) Fitzgerald; her daughter, Bertha Estella Fitzgerald (Jenkins) Granding; Bertha's daughter, Edna Lockwood (Jenkins) Barnes; Edna's daughter, Bertha Estella (Barnes) Mock; and Bertha's daughter, Deborah A. (Mock) Russell. I was just 5 years old at the time. Any info, will be much appreciated. Deborah Russell Deborah Russell

Johanne's parents were Jacob Schimp(1771-1828?) and Magdelena Margaret ____?_____. Jacob Schimps parents were Johann Jacob Schimpf(1734?-1793?) and Christina Mayer(1728?-1756?)
