Union African Methodist Cemetery also called Stewart Cemetery, Providence township, Lancaster County, Pa.

"Now and then in Providence Township" printed 1976 lists this cemetery on pg 133 "#12 Stewart - Green - There was an A.M. E. Church for colored people near the western edge of the township. The 1875 atlas shows a community of blacks living near the church - names like Stewart, Green, Turner, Rollins and Proctor all followed by "col." That does not symbolize rank in the army, but the fact that they were colored people, The A.M.E. Church no longer exists but tombstones remain with the names Adam GREEN, Benjamin GREEN, Sarah STOUT, Henrietta Stewart PAGE, (1864-1949 and Malinda Stewart Chrles (died 1891). The 1899 atlas shows the cemetery west of the church, thus the building would have been to the left of the two tall evergreens in this picture"

The following two stones can be seen standing on Rawlinsville road, once the weather is a little nicer I will try and see if any of the other stones can be found in this spot

Stone1
PAGE, Henrietta Stewart Born 1864 Died 1949
Stone 2(Wife of Charles)
