Petition of Benjamin F. Shenk of Colerain township who was married to Barbara Barr one of the daughters of Christian Barr of Bart township, shows that Christian wrote his will the 13th of Nov 1816 and died short time after - will proven Dec 16 same yr.
He left a widow named Susanna who has since died and the following children some of who have died intestate and without issue to wit
Michael B. Barr of Adams County, state of Illinois
Susanna married Samuel Kendig both dec'd leaving three children viz Ann married John Metzger city of Lancaster, Susanna Married Henry Breneman and Amos kendig the said Susanna & Amos being minors over who Benjamin Barr is guardian
Christian who died after the father intestate and without issue
Mary married to John Neff now living out of the United States and traveling to California
Ann widow of Abraham Bitner living also out of the United States and traveling to California
Elizabeth who was married to Jacob H. Smith of Lebanon Ohio and the said Elizabeth now dec'd leaving her said husband and five children viz:Christian B, Franklin B., Susanna, Mary Ann, and Newton all minors and over whom A. Herr Smith Esq. City of Lancaster is guardian.

Barbara married to Benjamin F. Shenk - your petitioner- she being now dec'd and leaving her said husband and three children Viz: Emma B. Martha Ann, and Francis Marion over whose estate Samuel P. Bower of the borough of Strasburg is guardian
The will leaves land to Benjamin when he turns 21 But this was never received because he died proir to that age
The remaining heirs want the land viewed
