The following is a copy of a news paper article (no date ) Lancaster intel. under Drumore Doings
-
Last Thursday afternoon at the residence of Mr. Samuel Dorsey, the brides's father, Miss Allie Dorsey, by the assistance of Rev. John Galbreath, changed her name for that of Mrs. Anson B. Ambler. A large number of guest were present at the ceremony, and testify to the new piece of workmanship done in the same old way, calculated to give general satisfaction - - warranted to wear a lifetime, with all repairs - - and, of course, none will ever be needed - - to be at the expense of the bridesmaid and her honored assistant. The happy pair have already received sufficient congatulations to last them a lifetime, and numberless counties yet to hear from. There were beautiful presents in abundance, and what presents should be they were, all useful. The high regard for the young couple wherever they are known called forth the sincerest, expressions of good will toward them, and hopes for their future success and happiness, to which this branch of the INTELLIGENCER household, if not too insignificant, desires to add its tribute of friendship. A reception was given the bride and groom by the latter's father, Mr. Edward Ambler, where all was merriment and feasting.

-
In Fulton township, on the 23 inst, there was a death that caused the profoundest sorrow wherever the deceased, or the recent circumstances of her life, were known. It was that of Mrs. Allie Ambler, wife of Anson B. Ambler of this township; and daughter of Mrs. Samuel Dorsey. Mrs. Ambler was in her twenty-fifth year, and was married in December last. She had been in very delicate health previous to her marriage, but at that time it was thought she was recovering. She grew worse, however, a short time ago, and died last week in the very opening of a beautiful womanhood. She and her husband had just completed their preparations to begin housekeeping and farming on the first of April, up to which time she was to remain at her father's home, where she died. Everything was so full of promise before her, bright prospects and kind friends on every side, her young husband a most congenial companion, their lives have been rich in anticipation. "But oh! fell death's untimely frost." The young wife's was one of those happy natures that makes every acquaintance a friend, and her death has touched more chords than those of kindred . Sympathy for the bereaved family is universal, and for the young husband's great sorrow, come so early, there is enough pity to soothe if pity ever could.

- HELD FOR MURDER
- Young Charles Moore Charged With Shooting Henry H. Dorsey, Given Hearing
- .
- Given a hearing on Wednesday, by Justice Ash, at Elkton Maryland, Samuel Moore, the seven year old son of Charles Moore, Pilottown, Who killed Henry Herbert Dorsey, last Friday afternoon, apparently was undisturbed. During the progress of the hearing he paid little attention to what was being said, but was much interested in watching the newspaper men who were sitting near him.
- The only witness the state examined was Charles Moore, the ten-year-old brother of the accused, who stated that he noticed Dorsey driving up the road, and a few seconds later saw Samuel come out of the kitchen carrying his gun, which had been given to him for a Christmas present. A couple of minutes later he heard the eplosion of the gun, and noticed his brother running back into the kitchen. Upon inquiry Samuel told him that he shot Dorsey. Justice Ash held the lad for the grand jury, but it is probable that the court will be asked to commit him to reform school until he is 21 years of age.

,
- Note: I was told by Mrs. Grace Shaub that Henry Herbert Dorsey was shot because of an argument with these boys about a dog.

- Henry Herbert Dorsey died January 11, 1913 and is laid to rest in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairfield, Pa.

Rebecca Lee Dorsey, another of the early women practitioners of medicine, came to Los Angeles in January, 1886, a graduate both of Eastern colleges and of a leading Vienna hospital. Peddling vegetables as a child, later working as a servant and hiring out as a nurse while finishing her course in Europe, Dr. Dorsey was of a type frequently found among the early builders of the Southwest.
