F | .. | NOT SEPARTED IN DEATH - Joseph C. and Rachel Ann Stubbs. Only once in a lifetime, perhaps to the same community comes an experience such as that which came to the people of the lower end of Lancaster County, within the last week a man and his wife, victims of the same disease (though not contagious) lying cold in death at the home where their hearts had beat as one for almost half a century, borne in the same procession to the fraveyard, where their ancestors had been gathered for generations. In the presence of a great throng of relatives and friends in the old meeting house where they had gone to religious worship since earliest childhood, aye for more than three score years, lay side by side all that death left unclaimed of Joseph C. Stubbs and wife. Six strong men carried each of them in solemn procession along the pathway among the grassy mounds of their mutual ancestors to a wide open grave and they were lowered side by side to their last resting place. As they had together grown up from childhood, passed into maturity, married and lived as man and wife, father and mother, caring for and working for and praying for the home they had built for themselves and their children It seemed an occasion doubly sad yet after all it seemed to be an evidence of the "eternal fitness of things" that they should thus go together. ..........this goes on for awhile along the same line and part of the article is cut off. If the children are mentioned by name it does not appear on the photocopy. | month & day covered with article | .. | 1907 | .. | .. |
