The Robinson Township Historical Society was founded in 1989 with the goal of collecting and preserving information and artifacts related to the history of Robinson Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

The history of Robinson Township encompasses not only what occurred within its present borders but also its historical borders which includes present-day Thornburg, Rosslyn Farms, Kennedy Township, and Pennsbury Village. The whole of historic Robinson was itself once part of Fayette Township.

The society currently maintains two rooms within the Robinson Township municipal complex. In these rooms you will find artifacts of everyday life, tools used in coal mining, photographs, newspaper articles, and even an old still!

The photograph on the left is Montour Railroad Steam Engine #14 crossing at Ewings Mill. The center picture is a model of the Moon Run Coal Company Store. The photograph on the right is a the original Forest Grove Presbyterian Church before fire destroyed it in 1896. The store model was built by Walter Stacik and graciously donated to the Society in 1991.

Members have gathered listings of nearly 24,000 burials in Robinson Township cemeteries.
