Grave # 4181 in the National Cemetery

Moses fought at the Battle of Gettysburg; his name is listed on the Pennsylvania Monument. Moses was captured at Mine Run, Virginia, on May 5, 1864. He wrote the following letter to his wife after his capture:

Danville, Virginia                                                                    May 16, 1864
Dear Wife, Will write a few lines to inform you that I am in good health, and hope these few lines may find you all in good health too. I do not like letting you alone, but it is the best I can do. I will be back in 1 years time to you.
