Veteran's Activity Summary:
Hiram enlisted late in the war with the Potomac Home Brigade in Cumberland, Md. This was near his home in Grantsville, Md. He was a bricklayer by trade.

The Potomac Home Brigade was assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division of West Virginia.  Shortly after his assignment to the brigade, the war ended and his unit's service was completed. All soldiers assigned were mustered out in Baltimore, Md and returned to their home in western Maryland.
