| The Society was chartered 12 Dec 1994 to foster and actively participate in the preservation and acquisition of personal property, buildings, sites, landmarks, documents and other items of historical interest and aesthetic and social value; to revive pioneer arts and crafts; to foster interest in and appreciation for the history of the area and to carry on research in the same. Charter members included Marlene Nagle, Betty Arnold, Clark R Brocht, Margaret Stoner, Kevin Hardesty, Grace Sanner, Mark Metz, Dorothy L Burnworth, and Ethel Mae Brant. |

| Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each
month during three seasons, being open only by appointment
in winter months. The museum is open each Tuesday from 1 to 4 pm, Friday Noon to 4 pm. Other times by appointment. Please call 814-926-2422 or 814-233-3997 for an appointment. |
