Rev. Wm. M. Taylor, D. D. This much-loved brother held the longest pastorate during the one hundred years of this Presbytery. Forty-one years, six months and eighteen days was he an Under Shepherd of Westfield Church. He was born and reared in the bounds of this Presbytery, and received under its care and licensed and ordained by it, and then installed over Westfield Church as pastor June 12, 1861, and continued its faithful and much esteemed pastor until the very dawning of the year 1903, when he was translated to his Heavenly Home. His life was one of great consecration to his Master's service. He was not only faithful to all the duties of his own charge, but he did a large amount of work in the evangelistic field, in assisting pastors in revival services, and holding meetings in vacant churches. God blessed him greatly in this line of work. He was a brother highly esteemed and will doubtless have many stars in his crown of rejoicing.
