William M. Taylor,

William M. Taylor was born in Little Beaver Township, Lawrence Co., on 4 Mar 1834, the son of Samuel and Charity Mercer Taylor.  He attended the local schools and went to Jefferson College where he graduated with honor in 1858, and to Western Theological Seminary, graduating in 1861.

 

He became the pastor of the Westfield Presbyterian Church, near Mt. Jackson, Lawrence Co., on 12 Jun 1861, and served the church for 42 years, until his death on 30 Dec 1902.

 

Rev. Taylor married Lorinda Packer, daughter of Sylvester L. Packer on 24 Mar 1861.  She passed away in 1883.  Rev. Taylor remarried to Sophy B. Loring on 24 Sept 1885.
