Thomas F. Winter

 

Rev. Thomas F. Winter was born in Xenia, OH on 27 Jul 1828, the son of William and Elizabeth Cochran Winter.  He graduated from Franklin College at New Athens, OH, and enrolled in the Seminary at Canonsburg, PA.

 

Rev. Winter became licensed to preach in 1856, and served as a missionary in Wisconsin.  He then came to Lawrence Co., PA, as the Presbyterian Church pastor for 11 years; next, Adamsville, Crawford Co., for eight years, and East Palestine, OH, for six years.

 

He became the pastor of the United Presbyterian Church in New Castle, Lawrence Co., in Jun 1892.

 

Rev. Winter married Jane Scott of New Athens, OH.  They became the parents of two childred, Frances R. and Allison T., before her death in 1859.  Rev. Winter remarried to Mary McClelland of Mt. Jackson, PA. Their children:  Elizabeth M., Robert Mc., and William W.
