Rev. Robert M. Davis was pastor of Rich Hill and Leesburg for about nine years. He had been in charge of Harlansburg and Leesburg, in Butler Presbytery a short time previous. He was a young man of unusual consecration to his work. His meat and drink was to do his Master's will. He possessed a gentle, retiring disposition and was full of the spirit of kindness and unselfishness. God wonderfully blessed him. Many souls were gathered into the kingdom through his instrumentality. He was an untiring worker. His sermons were simple gospel truth. But, there was a divine power accompanied these messages that made itself felt among his hearers. He walked with God and is not, for God took him. After a brief illness in the autumn of 1889 he passed to his reward, and his remains lie by the side of his beloved wife in Rich Hill Cemetery.
