L. I. Baumgardner, son of Michael and Barbara Long Baumgardner of Wharton Township, Fayette County, PA, and one of five brothers to enter the ministry.

He pastored United Evangelical Churches north and east of Pittsburgh, and retired to Rural Valley, Armstrong County, PA.
