Joseph V. Sharp was appointed second assistant at St. Mary's Church June
23, 1907. He was born in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; was
educated in the parochial schools of that city, afterwards entering upon
his college course at Niagara University in September, 1895. In 1896 he
entered the Villa Nova College, where he completed his college course.
In the fall of 1901 he entered St. Bernard's Seminary, where he made his
philosophical and theological studies, from which institution he was
ordained by Rt. Rev. B. J. McQuaid on June 9, 1907.
