 Drafted 1 Oct 1864 and mustered in at Williamsport, Pa

Although Jacob joined late in the War his regiment did see notable action in the Spring of 1865.
Action at Boyden Plank Road/Hatcher's Run and the fall of Petersburg, battles of Sailor's Creek and High Bridge, April 6 and 7 and to Appomattox Court House and Lee's surrender.  Then, marched to Washington,DC in May and participated in the Grand Review parade of troops on May 23, 1865.

Born 16 May 1840 at Rhoneymeade Farm, Centre Hall, Centre County, Pa
Died 3 Mar 1907  at Baden, Pa and is buried at Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery,
Tusseyville, Centre County, Pa
Married to Emma Katherine Fye in 1876 and had one child.
After the War Jacob completed additional schooling and became a School Principal.
