  • A Brief History of East Mahoning Township:
    East Mahoning Township was created when Mahoning Township was divided into four parts (East, West, North, and South) in 1846. It was considered a particularly desirable location in the early days, as the soil was smoother and easier to clear than the rest of the land north of the Purchase Line.
