J. Sherman built this structure in 1888 at a cost of $3000.00. The span measured 88 feet across Conneaut Creek. At its peak it was 17 1/2 feet high, and was 17 feet wide. In 1953 a fire was started by vandals, by the time the firemen arrived the bridge was completely engulfed. They were unable to save it. To date this structure has not been replaced, and Ackerly Rd. provides only a turn around for those who wish to see the old stone abutment and retaining wall.
