Nicholas Louis Masson married Marie Rose Jacquet, who was b:14 APR 1849, in OH; d: 2 SEP 1873 and is buried in St. Brigid Cem., Meadville,PA. They had 2 ch: Louis Albert b: 16 MAR 1870 in PA, and Rosanna b: 25 NOV 1871 in PA. Rosanna d: 31 AUG 1872, and is buried in St. Brigid Cem. I am curious about ancestors to the Massons, and also what happened to the son, Louis Albert. In the 1880 census he is living in Louisville, Ohio with his grandfather, Francois JACQUET, so I am assuming he was orphaned.

Was there some sort off epidemic in the Meadville, PA area in the early 1870's?

I know that Louis Albert grew up and after the death of his grandfather in the 1880's, married and moved to Syracuse, NY. His wife (who?) died young, leaving two children, Louis and Weston Masson. At that point I run into a brick wall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jim Jacquet

James Clark was my great great grandfather. He lived in Crawford County on Sept. 26, 1835 when my great grandfather, George Edward Clark, was born. I am quite sure that he left Crawford Co. before the 1850 census. My sole surviving aunt ( by marriage ) said the family moved to Greenwood, Indiana. I do NOT know my great grandmother's name or whether there were any siblings. I am a novice ~ just started this research last December, and have hit a MAJOR roadblock.
Thank you very much.
