128th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry
The 128th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry was organized at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in August, 1862. The regiment left Pennsylvania for Washington, D. C., August 16, and was on duty there till September 6th. The unit moved to Frederick, Maryland, September 6-14. The regiment was attached to 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 12th Army Corps, Army of the Potomac. The unit saw action at the Battle of Antietam, Maryland, September 16-17. At Sandy Hook and Maryland Heights September 22 to December 10. Moved to Fairfax Station, Virginia, December 10-14. Duty there till January 19, 1863. The regiment then moved to Stafford Court House January 19-23, and duty there till April 27. The 128th was engaged in the Chancellorsville Campaign April 27-May 6 nd the Battle of Chancellorsville May 1-5. The unit was mustered out on May 19, 1863.
The 128th Regiment lost during service 2 Officers and 31 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 26 Enlisted men by disease. Total 59.
