SPECIAL PROJECT
We have the opportunity to transcribe local cemetery records. This will be a Special Project for our Society.
We have started this transcription project (summer of 2002) and the initial field work is being completed. We are in the process of entering the data into a useable database. Our next step will be to transcribe the Mortuary Records.

SPECIAL NOTICE
In our January meeting we had a special speaker, Larry Moulton. He's a Historian, retired teacher and author. Larry has written books on the history of Sawmills and Logging Camps in the Douglas County area.
"DOUGLAS COUNTY SCHOOLS - A History Outline", October, 2000 - 144 school districts, now there are 15.
"HISTORY OF DOUGLAS COUNTY SAWMILLS"
600 pages - 54 chapters
We have received permission from Mr. Moulton to offer "Look-ups" from these books. He is also requesting that if anyone has any additional information that pertains to this subject, please send us an e-mail and we will make sure that Mr. Moulton receives the information.
