KING, Robert, Sr . (d.), was b. Ayr, Scot., 1805; d. 1879. He came to Canada in 1842 and set. in Lanark Co., where he worked at his trade of weaver until 1854, when he came to Maryborough Tp., where he continued to pursue his trade until his death. He m. Barbara Boyd, who d.. in 1878, age 73 years. Issue: Andrew, Hugh, Robert, Jr. (d.), and John (d.).

Robert Jr., m. Margaret Mckee, dau. of William McKee of Maryborough Tp. Some years ago Mr. King discontinued farming in Maryborough and embarked in the woodworking business in Moorefield, which he carried on until his death May 8th 1905.

Andrew, son of the late Robert King, Sr., owned a farm on con. 6, but he is a carpenter and has worked principally at his trade. He resides in Moorefield, and now carries on the woodworking business left by his brother Andrew. He m. Jane Freeburn of Peterboro' Co.
