HUGH A. J. McGILLIS

hUGH A. J. McGILLIS is sixty-one years of age and is owner of the 190 acre farm located East 1/2 Lot 25 and West 1/2 Lot 24, Eighth Concession, Cornwall Township, Stormont County. Mr. McGillis' father's name was Hugh McGillis and his mother's maiden name Catherine Lyman. He married Catherine Sayers and is the father of two sons and four daughters. In religion he is a Roman Catholic, in politics an Independent, and of Scotch descent.

       Mr. McGillis farm yields annually 1000 bushels of grain, 90 tons of hay, livestock equipment is 35 graded Ayrshires, 5 horses, 28 swine and over 100 fowl.
       Mr. McGillis has been farming all his life, and has been a member of the Cornwall Cheese Board since it was organized twenty-one years ago. He is a patron of the Glencoe Cheese Factory.
       The average quantity of milk delivered from Mr. McGillis' farm daily during the season is 550 pounds. He also makes 400 pounds of butter.
       Mr. McGillis has been active politically in the past, and was at one time honored by the electorate by being elevated to the position of Warden of the Three United Counties.
