update on the former Madawaska Valley District High School Genealogy Club, Barry's Bay, Ontario
High school students did their own research, and collectively the club recorded local census returns, and transcribed local cemeteries with references to church records. The finished products were passed on to local libraries and genealogical groups. Their publications are available through the Upper Ottawa Valley Genealogical Group. The club closed in 2000 upon the retirement of its founder and teacher advisor, Robert Corrigan. A hearty thanks to Robert for his years of leadership and with his students their numerous contributions to Renfrew County genealogy!
