Works in Progress and Comments

Robbie Gorr is preparing reports on five pioneer cemeteries. He is going beyond the usual practise of transcribing the headstones by researching the families and in one case the cemetery history. Completion dates are not available because of extra effort being made. When completed these reports will be published through the UOVGG. [teleph. conversation, S. Gray and R. Gorr, Oct. 29, 2000]

Clarendon Tp., Holiness Movement Cemetery (which is now closed and moved to Maple Grove United Cemetery, Shawville). The Holiness Movement got its start in Pontiac County and Mr. Gorr is planning to include information on this religious movement.

There are seven cemeteries nearing completion in Pontiac County for publication by the UOVGG in summer 2004:

The report on the Norway Bay cemeteries are still available from the Ottawa Br., Ottawa Br. of Ont. Geneal. Society, even though they are not listed in their current publications list .

Another cemetery, St. Andrew's Presbyt. Cem., Fort Coulonge, Mansfield Twp., may be in progress or completed. Please let the web master know who is working on St. Andrew's!

The UOVGG had a Cemetery Recording Party at St. Brigid R. C. Cemetery, 10 km north of Onslow, Onslow Tp. on Aug. 16, 2001. [Timberline, Aug. 2001, vol. 12(4), p 31.]. This cemetery transcription is expected to be ready in July 2004 [Phone conversation, Feb. 9, 2004, S. Gray and R. Walsh.]

In Clarendon Tp., St. Albans' Parkman Anglican Cemetery may not exist. Ron Walsh investigated this location and found that the church had been closed for some time and there was no evidence of a cemetery, and he expects burials would have been at one of two nearby cemeteries, St. Paul's Anglican Cem. and Stark's Corners Community Cemetery. [Phone conversation, Feb. 9, 2004, S. Gray and R. Walsh.]
