Transcribed here by Linda Herman Pioneers of Prince Edward County BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES THE KETCHUM FAMILY Thaddeus Ketchum arrived from Herkimer Co., NY in 1812. In 1812, Thaddeus Ketchum moved his family from Herkimer County, N.Y., in a sleigh drawn by a team of horses. Thaddeus first came to Green Bush in Hallowell but shortly afterwards bought a farm in Athol. He and his wife, Elizabeth Haukison, had eleven children. The eldest son, James, settled in Athol Township and lived to the age of ninety-seven. His son, James, was a farmer in Athol as well as the Justice of the Peace for forty-seven years.
