THE JACKSON FAMILY

Settled at West Lake. 

Jacob Jackson and his wife, Mariann Searing, settled in Prince Edward county at the mouth of a small stream where his wife said she would "go no further".

The Jacksons had first settled in Long Island, New York, before Jacob came to Hallowell.

Jacob's sons and daughters, nine of them, were grown when they settled at West Lake. Many of his descendants also settled around him.
