ELEPHALET ADAMS

1775-1816. Lumber Merchant

Elephalet Adams was born in New Hampshire in the town of Ringe in the year 1775. In 1805 he emigrated to Canada settling in Picton. Here he married Mary Washburn. He operated a successful lumber business. In 1812 he built a lovely stone cottage on Bridge Street. He died in 1816.

Eliphalet Adams (Samuel, Isaac, Isaac) was born February 10, 1775 in Rindge, New Hampshire, and died October 24, 1816 in Upper Canada of pneumonia. He married Mary Washburn January 15, 1805 in Hallowell Twp., Prince Edward Co., Upper Canada, daughter of Ebenezer Washburn and Sarah Deforest. She was born April 29, 1787 in Ernestown Twp., L&A Co., Upper Canada.

Eliphalet Adams arrived at Hallowell in 1805. He operated a lumbering business on Bridge St., Picton.

Mary Ann Adams, born August 1813 in Picton, Prince Edward Co., UC; died July 29, 1891 in Milford, Prince Edward Co. She married Lewis Minaker, (Meinecke) about 1829; born March 04, 1808 in Marysburgh Twp., Prince Edward Co., UC; died February 28, 1891; buried Cherry Vallet cemetery, Prince Edward Co.
Lucy Adams, born 1806. She married Abraham Steel; born 1802.
Daniel Adams, born 1807.
Sarah Adams, born 1809; died 1881. She married John Murney; born 1803; died 1885.
Eliza Adams, born 1817. She married John Thomas McCready; born 1811.
