Whitby-Oshawa has copied and published nearly all the cemetery records for the southern part of the Durham Region. Birth, marriage, and death records have been copied in Bowmanville and Darlington; the Bowmanville Burial Book from 1857 (10,000) entries and other miscellaneous birth, marriage, and death entries from other townships.
Note: Name changed January 2005 from Whitby-Oshawa Branch to Durham Region Branch.

This library has the Whitby-Oshawa Branch, OGS, holdings. They have transcriptions of most of the cemeteries in Ontario County. They have scrapbooks about Whitby history, indexes to local newspapers from 1850, and census records from 18421-189; also the Land Record Index and the Registry Office Deeds are both here on microfilm. Family Histories include: Anderson, Barclay, Bengough, Dryden, Frost, Fuller, Greenwood, Gould, Jam, Hare, Mackey, Newman, Perry and Stillwell.
