A Tribute To A Country Doctor - (An Appreciation written by a friend who wishes to remain anonymous) - "INDEED, he was a good and just man". What greater tribute could be made than these Divine words! - IN THE ANNALS of the community the late Dr. W. W. Buttle, Pakenham will hold a lofty and permanent place. The entire unselfishness of his generous sympathetic qualities and his keen spiritual understanding of all creeds, were the regular routine of his daily life. His was a skilful hand with singleness of purpose to lift the burden of suffering fellow men. He possessed the knowledge of the privilege that was his in aiding the youth and by them especially, will his loss be more keenly felt. In his immediate family, where existed the ideal home life and love of simple things, there will be a lasting cultural remembrance for all time. No call was left unheeded nor waved aside for personal pleasure. The secret art of pure self-sacrifice unseen by men, but marked by angels' eyes is not lost, and by virtue of it our beloved doctor and friend is now reaping the reward of services well rendered. "When a great man dies, For years beyond our ken, The light he leaves behind him lies, Upon the paths of men."
