Turpin-Hicks—Married, on Wed. morning, 10th June, at St. James Church, by Rev R. L. Stephenson, A.M., Rector, James Turpin, Esq., of Montreal to Mary Kerr (Hicks), second daughter of Mr. Wm. Hicks, Esq., Perth.

On Monday morning last, Miss Mary Hicks of Perth, the charming daughter of Wm. Hicks, the deservedly popular proprietor of Hicks’ Hotel, was united in matrimonial bonds with James Turpin, Esq., of Montreal.  The ceremony was solemnized in St. James Church in front of the largest assembly we have ever seen in that building on a similar occasion.  The wedding service was performed by the Rector, R. L. Stephenson, A.M.  The psalms and “amens” were effectively performed by the choir, led on the organ-harmonium by Miss Anna Matheson.  Amongst the company was the bridegroom’s best man, Mr. Andrew Brown, of Montreal.  The bridesmaid was Miss Ida Mowat of Perth.  At the conclusion of the service the bridal party entered the carriage in waiting and proceeded to Hicks’ Hotel, where the wedding breakfast was given; the party comprising over 30 guests amongst whom were Judge Senkler, H. L.. Slack, Esq., Rev. R. L. Stephenson, Dr, Howden, & etc.  About 10:00 am, Mr. and Mrs. Turpin left for Toronto, where they propose to spend their honeymoon.

Brockville was the starting point of another couple into the holy state of matrimony yesterday, being the second couple so far this week.  The wedding ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. McGillevray, at the residence of Mr. Publow(?) a friend of the bride.  The happy man was Mr. W. Cryderman, of Perth, and the lady was Miss Davies of Belleville and formerly of Perth.  Shortly after the nuptial knot was tied, the couple with a large number of friends, partook of a very tastefully arranged breakfast.  They left on the afternoon train for the north on their wedding tour.

Farmer-MacDonald--The Globe of Saturday gives the details of the marriage of Mr. P. Patterson Farmer, of Arnprior, to Miss Georgiana (MacDonald), daughter of Mr. Peter MacDonald of Toronto. The marriage took place in Rosedale Presbyterian Church, Rev. Donald Strachan officiating. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion, an artistic combination of heather and roses. A sister of the groom, Miss Muriel, acted as bridesmaid and Mr. Henry B. Macdonald, brother of the bride, was best man. The groom is a son of Mr. William Farmer, formerly of Perth, his mother being a daughter of the late Mr. James Patterson, also of Perth. Messrs. G. B. and C.A. Farmer, of Perth, are cousins of the groom's father.
