One of those pleasing events which always cause a flutter in social circles happened on Wednesday last.  It was the celebration of marriage of Carrie Consitt to Mr. J. J. Tovey of Barrie’s Hotel.  The bride, who was given away by her father, was assisted through the trying ordeal by Lillian Tovey of Bathurst, a cousin of the groom, while the groom was assisted by F. H. Consitt of Ottawa, cousin of the bride.  The ceremony was performed in St. John’s Church by Rev. Duffus after which the happy couple drove out to the home of the bride’s parents where a number of relatives and friends had gathered.  In the early afternoon all sat down to a sumptuous repast after which games, etc., were indulged in.  The bride received many beautiful and useful gifts including a gold watch and chain a gift of the groom.
