Luella May Mains

At her home, Carleton Place, on Saturday, May 31, 1975, Luella May Featherstone, beloved wife of the late Howard Mains; dear mother of Raymond, R.R. 3 Ashton, Lester, Smiths Falls.  Also survived by 4 grandchildren.  Resting at the Kerry Funeral Home, 61 Lake Ave West, Carleton Place after 7pm Saturday.  Service in the Funeral Home Monday at 2 pm.  Interment Munster Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society.

In hospital at Carleton Place on Tuesday, June 3, 1975, John Stronach, beloved husband of the late Elspeth Donald; dear father of Viola and Dorothy; predeceased by son Donald; in his 87th year.  Resting at the Kerry Funeral Home, 61 Lake Ave. West, Carleton Place, after 2pm, Wednesday.  Service in the Funeral Home, Thursday at 2pm.  Interment United Cemeteries.

Gordon Salter - Ottawa Citizen - 21 October, 2005.

SALTER, Gordon Wilson At Stonebridge Manor, in Carleton Place, on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at the age of 87. Loving husband of Shirley Irene (nee Duncanson). Dear father of Leslie (Frank Gisburn), Heath, Morley (Denise), Melanie (Terry Sowden) and Shayne (Susan Vaughan). Proud grandfather of Kim (John Rossos), David Gisburn, Lachlan Salter, Darryl and Nick Sowden and Beth Salter. Great-grandfather of Sophie and Tasha Rossos. Predeceased by his brother Howard, of London, ON, and daughter Christine. Gordon was born in Smiths Falls ON, in July 1918, and studied Engineering at Queen's University. He worked for Alcan Aluminum for twenty-eight years in Arvida and Beauharnois QC. Following this, he took a position with Energy, Mines and Resources in Ottawa. Gord and his wife Shirley enjoyed a long retirement in both Florida and Ontario. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd., at Roosevelt Ave., on Sunday, October 23, 2005 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel Monday at 11 a.m. For those who wish, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. SALTER, Shirley Irene (nee Duncanson) At Stoneridge Manor, in Carleton Place, on Saturday, November 5th, 2005 at the age of 85. Devoted wife of the recently deceased Gordon Wilson Salter. Beloved mother of Leslie (Frank Gisburn), Heath, Morley (Denise nee Muir), Melanie (Terry Sowden) and Shayne (Susan Vaughan). Dear grandmother of Kim (John Rossos), David Gisburn, Lachlan Salter, Darryl and Nick Sowden and Beth Salter, and proud great-grandmother of Sophie and Tasha Rossos. Fond sister of Gloria (Rhodes) Hennigar of Wolfville, NS. Predeceased by her sister Hazel (Avery) Vaughan, of Windsor, NS and daughter Christine. Shirley graduated from Acadia University pre-med in 1939, and from the Royal Victoria Hospital Nursing program in 1942. She worked at the Arvida General, Montreal Neurological, and Royal Ottawa Hospitals. Shirley joined her husband Gord in his work postings to West Africa and the Caribbean, before a much enjoyed and lengthy retirement in Florida and Ontario.
