Died - At Scotch Lines, Tuesday, January 25, Margaret RITCHIE, wife of late Robert HENDRY, aged 79 years, of pleuro-pneumonia. Was daughter of late William R., lumberman, Bathurst . Survived by brothers John & Robert, Edmonton , Ab. And Donald, Chicago and sister, Mrs. Edwin BULLARD, American Baptist Mission, Kavati, India, also 4 children; Anna & John M. on the homestead, Scotch Line; Mrs. W. R. Hendry, Bindloss, Ab. & Mrs. P. S. McLaren, Drummond.  Daughter Mrs. R. K. Allan, Edmonton predeceased by 1 year. To Scotch Line Cemetery , Friday.

Died - At Kamloops , B.C., Jan 18, Halbert (OLIVER), youngest son of late George OLIVER, Scotch Line.

Died - At the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. CULBERTSON, Lake Ave. , Saturday, Jan 22, Christopher McCULLOUGH, aged 75 years, 10 months. Born on Scotch Line on border of Drummond & Bathurst Twps. After death of wife 8 years ago came to Carleton Place . To St. James vault Tuesday. Carleton Place Herald.

Died - At Perth , Thursday, Jan 20, John WILSON, aged 78 years.

Married - At the home of Mrs. Walter CUNNINGHAM, North Elmsley , Wednesday, Feb. 9 by A. H. Scott, her daughter Mary Elizabeth (CUNNINGHAM) to Norman OLIVER, Ferry Road .  The bride's brother is Norman Cunningham.

Married - At St. Andrew's Church, Lindsay, Wed. Feb 2, by F. H. McIntosh, Vera Edith Mary (MERCER), only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Mercer, Lindsay to Stanley Meredith (SCOTT), BA, barrister, elder son of His Honour Judge & Mrs. Scott of Perth .

Died - At Poland , Feb. 4, Alex McDOUGALL, aged 86 years, 7 months. Born on the farm now owned by Wm. Paul, Poland in 1835. In 1861 married Mary DUNN, Lavant.  Thirteen children, 7 survive: James, Lanark; John, Hopetown; Robert & Alexander, Poland ; Stewart, Lammermoor; Charles, Forest , Manitoba ; and Eva (Mrs. Thos Paul), Poland .  Deceased were: Albert, Aggie, Martha, Mary, and Sophia , Poland ; and Mary, Brandon .  Also 46 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. Presbyterian & Conservative & Orangeman. To Poland Cemetery . Lanark Era.

Died - As a result of continued quarrelling, Robert WOOD, 45, was fatally shot Monday at Caintown, by Derrick TENNANT, 79, with whom he lived.

Divorce - Applied for Divorce by Robert Stewart McINTYRE, Bathurst from his wife, Annie McINTYRE, Ogdensburg , NY for adultery & desertion.

Died - In Toronto , George Seymour (LYON), son of George S. LYON, well known Canadian golfer & brother of C. H. Lyon, Perth , in his 28th year.  Overseas when he was less than 17.  In poor health since wounded in Zillebecke.

Died - At Castleford, John McGREGOR, 86.  Went with his brother late Robert from Bathurst Twp.  To Sand Point Cemetery .

Died - In Chicago , Friday, October 9, James McKITTRICK, after an extended illness. Born in Lanark Twp.  In 1888 married Ellen FOY, Perth who predeceased him some years ago. Leaves 4 children; Mary, Margaret, Leo & Lloyd. Also 3 sisters & 1 brother; Mrs. Thomas Richards, Drummond; Mrs. John Quinn, Lanark; Brother Peter, medical doctor & sister Mrs. Morphy of Thorp, Wis., are deceased. Funeral Monday October 12, from Escanaba , Michigan .

Died - At St. Louis , MO. Saturday, James Fitzwilliam SHAW, formerly chief clerk of Dept. of Inland Revenue, Ottawa .  Born at Perth , son of James Shaw and Matilda Berford.  First wife was sister of W. P. & Norman Lett, Ottawa .  By her 1 child; Mrs. Nora Morgan, St. Louis . Second wife, Louise Sewell, Toronto , survives with 3 sons & 2 daughters; Rutherford in BC; Trevor & Eric, both of Hartford Con.; Mrs. Walter Soper, Ottawa ; Mrs. Kelhor Carr, St. Louis.

Died - At Toronto , Saturday, October 3, Donald (STEWART), 44, 3rd son of late Mr. & Mrs. Daniel STEWART, Hopetown. Married December 29, 1917 to Hazel ROACH, New Liskeard.  To them 2 sons; Donald & Robbie & daughter who died when not 2 weeks old. Leaves wife, family 5 brothers & 6 sisters.

Died - At Edmonton , Ab. Monday, Oct 12, John RITCHIE, aged 81 years, 11034 125 St.  Born Scotch Line Ontario , Feb 12, 1844 . eldest son of late William R. & Joan Dennison & grandson of John R., pioneer settler, who came from Scotland in 1816.  Married over 50 years ago to Agnes, daughter of late Thomas Dennison, Scotch Line who survives with 2 daughters & 4 sons: Maud, died in India ; Ella, Mrs. Harry W. Ambrose & Joanna, Mrs. G. Stewart Wilson, Edmonton .  A. E. (Frank), Bremner, Ab.; John W. Edmonton; Howard, killed in auto accident, Edmonton ; Ray died at home in Bathurst ; Ernest G., Kitchener ; & Burton , Ottawa .  Also brothers Robert, S. Edmonton ; Donald, Chicago & Sister, Mrs. E. Bullard, Kaviti , India . Baptist "Journal".

Death: In
Bathurst , May 22nd, Mrs. James Erwin, aged 78 years.  She was born Isabella Foster, and was twice married, having three children in each case.  They are; James, at Sharbot Lake ; Robert, in the Batineau; Thomas, in Oso Twp.; Henry, of Bathurst ; Archibald, on the homestead; and Mrs. James Geary, of Bathurst .  Burial on Friday in Rokeby Cemetery .

Death: In
Bathurst , Thurs. Jan. 21st, Ann Jane Foster, aged 69 years.  She took sick the day of her sister's funeral.  Only one sister survives, Mrs. James Erwin, 11th line Bathurst .  Burial in Rokeby cemetery.
