looked upon His garden And found an empty space, Then He looked down, upon the

rest. God's garden must be beautiful; For He only takes the best. He saw the
road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, He closed your weary
eyes, and whispered, "Peace be Thine". It broke my heart to lose you,
but you did not go alone, for part of me went with you, to God's garden you’re new Home. Loving daughter,

Walter Cameron
Blacksmith of Fallbrook died on weekend at age 92
PERTH
Walter Cameron, the well
known Blacksmith of Fallbrook,
died in hospital here Sunday. Cameron was born in Fallbrook about 14 kilometers
east of Perth, in 1894; and joined his father as a blacksmith at the age of 16.
While he didn't do much blacksmith work in recent years, Cameron regaled
thousands of visitors to his shop with stories of the old days of "smithing"
and was well known throughout Eastern Ontario for his woodcarving. A book on his
life, titled The Blacksmith of Fallbrook was published in 1979 and in it
author Audrey Armstrong calls Cameron "Lanark's Living Legend." Two
years ago, about 60 people turned up at his shop on his 90th birthday to watch
Cameron shoe a horse. He was still full of life and vigor as he handled the
smithy's tools. Always a popular speaker at schools in the area, Cameron and his
wood carvings fascinated young and old. The closer you get to 90, Cameron was
once quoted as saying, the younger 90 seems... you know there's some people
die at 17 and don't get buried until they're 75." Cameron is survived by a
son, Graham, of Ottawa, and a grandchild, Grant.
