Marriage 1928 – Quackenbush - Main

The marriage was solemnized the Baptist Parsonage Ogdensburg. N.Y. on Wednesday Nov. 7th  at three o'clock, when Irene Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Main of Renfrew was united in marriage to Mr. Clarence Quackenbush, son of Mr. and J. G. Quackenbush of Smiths Falls Rev. A. E. Kelly formerly of Renfrew, officiated. Only the parents of the contracting parties were present and Miss Eileen Quackenbush sister of the groom who played the Wedding March. The bride, given in marriage by her father, looked charming and petite in a gown rose color trimmed with gold flower and buckle. A wedding dinner was served at the parsonage after which the young couple left on a motor trip to Toronto, Hamilton, Kingsville, Detroit and other points. The bride travelled in independent blue broadcloth trimmed with mole skin, and blue metallic hat to match. On their return they will reside at 10 1/2 Russell Street East Smiths Falls. Marriage 1929 – Marquis - Armour

On Saturday, April 20th at 4.15 p.m. the marriage of Thelma Banks Armour, only daughter of Mr. Daniel Armour and the late Mrs. Armour of Smiths Falls to James Frederick Marquis, son of Mrs. T. A. Marquis and the late Mr. Marquis of Sunderland, Out., was solemnized at the home of the bride's father, 15 Daniel street. The Rev. Dr. Davies performed the ceremony. The bride entered the drawing room on the arm of her father to the strains of Lohengrins wedding march played by Mrs. C. McWilliams. The bride looked charming in a dress of white moiré, period style, wearing a wreath of orange blossoms and carrying a bouquet of cola lilies. The only attendant being the nephew of the bride, Master Billie Armour of Toronto, who acted as ring bearer. Little Miss Jean McWilliams answered the door. After the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served. The bride and groom left on the 6.40 train for Montreal, Manchester and on to New York, where they will reside. The bride travelled in a mauve ensemble, with hat, shoes and bag to match, and wore a silver fox fur. The bride was one of Smiths Falls most popular young ladies. She had been an active worker in Westminster Sunday School for a number of years. She was a talented musician and was always willing to lend her services to any worthy object. The out-of-town guests were the mother and sister of the groom, Mrs. T. A. Marquis and Miss Margaret Marquis of Sunderland, Ont., and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Armour and son Billie of Toronto.

Marriage - MCARTON - TURNER

CARLETON PLACE, June 25. -  Special - The home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McNeely, of Ramsay, was the scene of a quiet but interesting wedding, when Hannah Adrena Turner, was united in marriage with Henry Alexander McArton, of Huntley Township. Rev. J. Verner McNeely, of Zion United Church, Carleton Place was the officiating clergyman and the wedding music was played by Mrs. J. V. McNeely. Given in marriage by her step­father, the bride was gowned in pale green triple-sheer crepe made on long lines with a wreath of silver tinted flowers on her head. She also wore a gold pendant with green settings, the gift of the bride­groom, and carried a bouquet of Butterfly roses and Dianthus. Miss Lois McNeely, niece of the bride, was the flower girl, and she was dressed in pink organdie made in Victorian style, with a bandeau of pink rosebuds on her hair. She carried a nosegay of Briarcliffe roses and forget-me-nots. Following the ceremony, a buffet luncheon was served after which the young couple left on a wedding trip to Bowmansville, Toronto and other western points. The bride travelled in a tailored suit of yellow club-crepe with matching hat, white shoes, gloves and purse. On their return they will reside on the bridegroom's farm in Huntley Township.

Smith's Falls Girl was married in Knox College Chapel A pretty wedding was solemnized Saturday in Knox College chapel where Miss Ida Mabel McBride, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson McBride, of Smith's Falls, was united in marriage to Mr. Howard Thomas Conn, son of Mrs. Conn and the late Mr. Charles William Conn, of Tillsonburg. Rev. Dr. Norman A. MacEachern officiated, and Mrs. H. C. Might played the wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride looked charming in a gown of thistle bloom chiffon, redingote style over taffeta slip, with puffed sleeves which were tight-fitting below the elbow. Her hat was of matching shade, and she carried a sheaf of Talisman roses and forget-me-nots. Miss Marjorie McBride, of Smith's Falls, as her sisters bridesmaid, wore a frock and hat of turquoise blue and carried Ophelia roses. The groom was attended by Mr. Jack Bond and the ushers were Mr. Charles L. McCutcheon and Mr. George Conn, all of Toronto. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. C. L. McCutcheon, Glenholme Ave., the bride's mother receiving in a gown of navy and white flowered chiffon, with hat and accessories in matching shade of blue and wearing a corsage of roses. Mrs. Conn, mother of the groom, wore a gown of printed chiffon in shades of green. Her hat and accessories were black and she wore a shoulder knot of pink roses. For travelling, the bride wore the groom's gift, a broadtail coat with silver fox collar and black accessories. Following a motor trip, the Pride and groom will reside at Gravenhurst, Ont.

Miss Lillian E. McBride Becomes Wife of Charles L. McCutcheon, of Toronto

SMITHS FALLS, Ont., Dec. 28. The United Church, Smiths Falls, was the scene of a quiet wedding on Saturday afternoon, when Lillian Elizabeth, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Chas. Wilson McBride, was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Laurie McCutcheon, son of Mrs. McCutcheon and the late Mr. Albert Nelson McCutcheon, of Brantford. Dr. James Semple was the officiating clergyman. The wedding music was played by Miss Hazel C. Allen. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was charming in a dainty wedding dress of cornflower blue chiffon, fashioned on princess lines, with shoes of the same color. Her hat was of velvet in matching shade, made with a rolled brim, caught with a smart bow at the back. Her bouquet of Butterfly roses was centered with a corsage of orchids and lily-of-the-valley, which she later wore with her travelling costume.

The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Clifford A. Curtis, of Kingston, whose gown was of sea­sand georgette and lace. She wore a small hat of shirred velvet in hunter's green, with shoes of the same shade, and carried Talisman roses. Dr. Clifford A. Curtis acted as best man and the ushers were Mr. Earl R. Witmer, of Toronto, and Mr. Edward O. Percival, of Ottawa. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's  parents, where Dr. and Mrs. McBride received the guests, the latter wear­ing a handsome gown of midnight blue chiffon and lace with hat and shoes to harmonize. Her shoulder bouquet was of Bonny Bess roses. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. A. N. McCutcheon, also assisted in receiv­ing. Her dress was of black velvet with insets of cream lace, and she wore a becoming black hat. Mauve sweet peas and lily-of-the-valley were used in her shoulder bouquet. After a wedding trip to Montreal and New York, the bride and bride-groom will reside at 15 Castleview Avenue, Toronto.

Marriage 1938 - McCann - McKian

A quiet but charming wedding was solemnized at eight o'clock on Tuesday morning, September 20th, in St. John's R. C. Church, Perth, when Mary Jane (Mae), only daughter of Mr. Michael McKian, and the late Mrs. McKian, of Armstrong's Corners, became the bride of James Francis Reginald McCann, younger son of Mrs. McCann and the late Mr. John McCann, of Balderson. Rev. Father Meagher officiated with Rev. Father Ahearn present in the sanctuary. During the ceremony, Mrs. M. Donohue rendered a vocal selection. The bride, who was given in marriage by her aunt, Mrs. Thomas O'Grady, of Almonte, wore a lovely gown of fuchsia chiffon velvet. The very full skirt, extending into a fan shaped train, fell from a tight fit­ting bodice fashioned with a softly draped neckline, held in place with, silver clips. She wore a small silver turban and carried an arm bouquet of Johanna Hill roses and Bouvardia. She was attended by Miss Helen Kane as bridesmaid, who wore a floor-length model of sapphire blue chiffon velvet, with a sweetheart neckline and puff sleeves. She wore a blue and gold turban, held in place by a velvet chain strap, and carried an aria bouquet of Peret roses and Maiden-hair fern. Mr. Bernard McCann, brother of the groom, was best man. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the Vanity Fair Tea House. Mrs. O'Grady wore a gown of black satin-faced crepe a black velour hat and a corsage of American Beauty roses. Later Mr. and Mrs. McCann left on a motor trip to Detroit. For traveling the bride chose a grey gabardine suit with laurel green accessories

Marriage - McCARTNEY- SHERIDAN

A quiet wedding of interest to many friends here took place at St. John's Anglican Church, Moose Jaw, on Thursday, October 29th, at 3.30 o'clock, when Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sheridan, Assiniboia, Sask., became the bride of Earl James McCartney, of Tuxford, son of Mrs. W. S. McCartney, Moose Jaw and the late Mr. W. S. McCartney. Archdeacon Western performed the ceremony. The bride wore a hunter's green Margaret T" gown a combination of crepe and satin in fitted tunic lines with hat and accessories to match. She wore a shoulder corsage of Premier roses. As bridesmaid, Miss Lura Sheridan, sister or the bride wore a gown of wine triple sheer and hat to match, her corsage bouquet being of Talisman roses. Stuart Bruce of Tuxford attended the groom. After a short honeymoon the bridal couple will reside in Tuxford. Mr. and Mrs. J. Sheridan and family were at one time residents of Smiths Falls.

Marriage 1928 - McCreary - Clark

A very interesting wedding took place on Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Clark, Rosedale, when their daughter, Dorothy Aileen, was married to Robert Fraser McCreary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. McCreary. The Rev. John Hardwick of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Carleton Place, officiated. An arch of evergreens with summer flowers formed a lovely background for the ceremony which took place on the lawn. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was lovely in her wedding gown of ivory flat crepe, made with tight bodice, long tight sleeves and full skirt, the uneven hem line being trimmed with Chantilly lace. Her veil was arranged in cap effect with lace and clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and white sweet peas. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Elizabeth Clark, who wore a charming frock of beige georgette, large rose beige hat trimmed with rose velvet ribbon. She carried an arm bouquet of pink snapdragon and blue larkspur. The groom was attended by Mr. Allan Ireton. During the signing of the register Miss Flora Newsome sang "At Dawning." She was accompanied by Mrs. Roy Saunders who played the wedding music also. Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. McCreary left on a motor trip through the Laurentians Hills the bride travelling in a dress of sand crepe artelle with shoes and hat to match, navy coat and brown fox fur. Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. McCreary will reside in Detroit. Marriage Mar 14th 1928 - McCreary – Jones

A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Jones, Merrickville on Wednesday, March 14th at 8 o'clock when their youngest daughter, Mary Ina was united in marriage to Burton C. Mc­Creary youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. McCreary, Smiths Falls, Rev. T. H. H. Hall officiating. The bride supported by her father who gave her away looked charming in her wedding gown of white satin faced crepe with bridal veil caught with orange blossoms and white shoes and stockings. She also wore the gift of the groom a handsome string of pearls. The bride was attended by her friend, Miss Marguerite Ferguson of Bishops Mills who wore chin-chip blue flat crepe trimmed with sand and red and a sand hat to match. The groom was assisted by Wm. Jones, brother of the bride. The groom's gift to the bridesmaid was a white gold bar pin and to the best man, a pair of gold cuff links. Hiss Hazel McCurdy Becomes the Bride of Mr. Leabourne McEwen

MARRIAGE of great interest to the people of North Gower took place at the parsonage of the United Church on Wednesday, July 25 when Hazel McCurdy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David McCurdy, of North Gower, was united in marriage to Leabourne McEwen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McEwen, also of North Gower. The bride wore a pretty dress of rose beige georgette with stockings to match, and black satin shoes. The young couple left for a wedding trip to Montreal and on their return will reside in North Gower. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. G. A. Wilson, and the signing the register along with the bride and bridegroom were Hilliard McCurdy, brother of the bride, and Violet McEwen, sister of the bride-groom.

NORTH GOWER, June 3.-­(Special)-The marriage took place at the United Church parsonage North Gower, of Miss Violet. May McEwen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. McEwen of North Gower to Mr. Kenneth Archibald, of Woodroffe. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. G. A. Wilson.

Miss Alice McEwen, sister of the bride was bridesmaid and Mr. J. Merrill Eadie of Manotick was best man. The bride looked lovely in a dress of mid-blue silk flat crepe radium trimmed with cream lace with hat to match, and black satin pumps. The bridesmaid was dressed in rose colored crepe de chine. Marriage – McEwen - Huckabone

In Erskine Presbyterian Church on Saturday, the marriage of Miss Ida Kathleen Huckabone, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Huckabone, of Cobden, to Mr. Robert William McEwen, son of Mrs. McEwen and the late Ewen McEwen, of Prestonvale, was solemnized by Rev. Robert Good. The bride wore an aqua blue crepe dress with black accessories, and her shoulder bouquet was of Briarcliffe roses. Miss Jean Huckabone, as her sister's attendant, wore a gown of rumor rose crepe with black accessories, and a corsage bouquet of Johanna Hill roses. Mr. Roy McEwen, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The young couple will take up residence in Prestonvale.

Marriage 1941 - MacFarlane - Donaldson

Tuesday afternoon, June 3, The United church manse, Lanark, was the scene of a quiet but interesting wedding, when Miss Amy G. Donald­son, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Donaldson of Lanark, became the bride of Henry C. McFarlane son of Mr. and Mrs. H. McFarlane of Prestonvale.

The bride was daintily gowned in a street length frock of heavenly blue, with corsage of roses and lily of the valley and hat and purse in becoming rose shade. The young couple left immediately on a motor trip. Mr. McFarlane is at present in training in Camp Borden.

Marriage 1938 – McKee - Fetterly

CHESTERVILLE, Ont., April 15. -- (Special) - The marriage of Altalera Mildred Fetterly, only daughter of Mrs. Lenora Fetterly and the late Milton Fetterly, who was formerly a member of the teaching staff of the Ottawa public schools, to Thomas Andrew Shearer McKee, of Ottawa son of Mrs. Annie McKee and the late George James McKee, of Peterboro, was quietly solemnized at 8.30 p.m. last night at the parsonage of Trinity United Church. Rev. R. C. Tait officiated, the ceremony being witnessed by Mrs. Fetterly, mother of the bride, and by Mrs. Tait. The bride wore a navy blue Hurlingham suit, with hat and shoes in blending tones of the same color. Her accessories were white and she wore the gift of the bridegroom, a silver fox shoulder cape with a corsage of ruby scarlet Briarcliff roses. Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. McKee left by motor for Western Ontario. They will take up residence in Ottawa

Marriage – McMillan - Reid

Monday morning last, in Westminster Presbyterian church, two well known and popular young people of Smiths Falls were united in marriage by Rev. Dr. Davies, pastor of Westminster Church. The bride is Miss Doreen Reid, only daughter of Mrs. Lottie Reid, of town, and the groom Mr. Frederick C. McMillan, a former resident here, now residing in Montreal, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McMillan, of Hillsburg, Ont. There were no attendants and the ceremony took place in the presence of only close friends of the contracting parties. The wedding has unusual interest for Smiths Falls' people, especially the younger yet. The bride has been an office employee C.P.R here for several years, while the groom was formerly teller in the Royal Bank, a position which he held until transferred to a branch of the bank in Montreal. Both have on innumerable occasions, entertained and delighted large local audiences which has assembled to hear these noted vocalists, each possessing rare vocal talent, and both were members of Westminster choir. Where their singing added much to the charm of the various services of the church. They have here a host of friends who wish theirs health and, happiness when they take up residence in Montreal after a honeymoon spent in Western Ontario. The Telegram adds its best wishes.

Marriage 1934 - McNeely - Gardiner

CARLETON PLACE, Feb. 9.-(Spe­cial) -Trinity church was the scene of a pretty but quiet wedding, when Miss, Ellen Gardiner, daughter or Mrs. George Gardiner and the late George Gardiner. of Beckwith was united in marriage with Osmond McNeely, son of Mrs. Miller McNeely and the late Miller McNeely, also of Beckwith. Rev. Mr. Turley, of Trinity church, performed the ceremony. The young bride wore a becoming gown of blue rough crepe fashioned on long lines, with long, tight sleeves, blue hat, gloves and shoes to match. Mr. and Mrs. McNeely will reside, in Carleton Place.

Marriage 1940 - McNEELY - PHILLIPS

The marriage took place today in Smith's Falls of Marion, daughter of , Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Phillips, to Mr. W. Norman McNeely, son of Mr. William McNeely and the late Mrs. McNeely. Rev. A. Cornett officiated and Miss. Ruth Brinkman of Port Colborne played the wedding music. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white net and lace dress over taffeta, a tulle veil and carried Killarney roses and lily of the valley. Her attendants were Miss Elsie Ballantyne of Toronto in turquoise net over taffeta and carrying Butterfly roses, and Miss Eva Gemmell in pink net over taffeta with a bouquet of Better times roses. Mr. Thomas Irvin of Toronto was bet man. The reception was held at Birk acre Inn where Mrs. Phillips received gowned in Suez rose crepe with black picture hat and corsage of Johanna Hill roses and lily of the valley. Following a trip to Montreal, New York and the southern States, the couple will live in Toronto. The bride travelled in a navy blue tailored suit with Regina blue accessories, and silver fox furs, the gift of the groom.

Marriage Dec. 1930 – McNeely - Turner

A very interesting wedding was quietly solemnized yesterday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at Erskine Presbyterian church, of Phoebe Agnes Turner, of Carleton Place, to William James McNeely, of Ramsay, Ont. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. Raeburn Gibson, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church of Aylmer, Que. Rev. Dr. George E. Ross, pastor of Erskine Church, and Mrs. A. Raeburn Gibson acted as witnesses. The bride, who was unattended, was charming in navy blue georgette with blue velvet hat. They will take up residence in, Ramsay, Ont

Marriage 1940 – Miller - Currie

A wedding of interest was solemnized on Oct. 8th by the Rev. Sta­ley Packham of Third Avenue United Church, Saskatoon, when Helen Amy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Currie, pioneers of the Arelee district became the bride of Charles Miller, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Miller of Perth Ontario. The bride chose a gown of pale pink net fashioned in princess lines with a matching bolero jacket. Her chapel veil was also pale pink. Silver slippers completed her attractive outfit. Her only ornament was a gold locket, the gift of her parents. Miss Irene Currie, youngest sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. She wore a dress of crushed rose with brown accessories. Mr. Elwood Ireton of Perth, Ontario, supported the groom. Immediately after the ceremony, the bridal party left for the bride's home at Arelee, where a wedding dinner was served to 20 guests. A three tier wedding cake, decorated by the bride's aunt, adorned the dinner table. Later in the evening over 200 people gathered in the Arelee community Hall, where a reception dance was given to the bride and groom. During the evening a presentation address was read and the happy couples were presented with many beautiful and useful gifts. Miss Irene Barber sang, "Oh Sweet Mystery of Life." Mr. and Mrs. Miller left by motor on Thursday for their home in Perth, Ontario. For travelling the bride chose a dress of blue crepe, Canterbury purple coat, and accessories to match.

Marriage 1934 – MOIR - LUCAS

SMITHS FALLS, Sept. 28 - Special - St. John's Anglican Church here was yesterday the scene of a quiet but, pretty wedding of much local interest, when Audrey Noreen Lucas only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lucas, was united in marriage to Harold P. Moir, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Moir, both of Smiths Falls. The ceremony was performed in the presence of only the immediate relatives and friends by the rector, Rev. R. H. Waterman, Later, a wedding luncheon was held at the home of the bride's parents, 123 Elmsley street north, after which, Mr. and Mrs. Moir left on a short motor trip following which they will take up their residence in Toronto.

Miss Montgomery Weds Dr. McCreary

SMITHS FALLS, July 19.­(Special) -The Church of St. John the Evangelist was prettily decorated with Regal lilies, larkspur, white and orchid gladioli for the marriage Saturday at 3 p.m. of Miss Edith Doreen Montgomery to Dr. Robert Hill­man McCreary, of Arnprior. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Montgomery, Smiths Falls, was given in marriage by her father and wore a becoming gown of sheer turquoise, matching sandals and turban with shoulder length veil, and carried a bouquet of Talisman roses. Rev. A. T. Carson and Rev. L. B. G. Adams officiated, and the bride was attended by Miss Miriam McCreary, Pakenham, sister of the bridegroom, the best man being James Milton Montgomery, nephew of the bride. The bride's attendant was gowned in a long dress of sheer rosewood, matching sandals, and turban with shoulder length veil, and carried a bouquet of Sweet­heart roses. Mrs. A. T. Carson was at the church organ, and the usher was Mr. Everett Stirtan, Carp. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, 15 Electric Street, after the ceremony. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Mc­Creary, Pakenham; the bride­groom's parents, Misses Edna and Miriam McCreary, Pakenham: Mr. Hiram McCreary, Carleton Place; Mr. and Mrs. E. W, Stirtan and Master George, Carp; Mrs. J. M. Montgomery and Miss Ruth Montgomery, Kingston. After a wedding trip through the Ottawa Valley the couple will reside at Arnprior, where the bridegroom is a physician. The bride is a former member of the Smiths Falls Collegiate teaching staff.

Marriage Sept 1931 - Montgomery - Rose

The marriage was quietly solemnized in Brockville on Wednesday last when. Rev. W. F. Donnelly, united in marriage Aileen M. Rose, daughter of Councilor and Mrs. R. B. Rose of Smiths Falls and Mr. Mortimer Montgomery, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Montgomery of Frankville. The bride looked pretty in brown travel tweed suit with hat and shoes to match and also wearing a fox fur. The young couples were at­tended by Mr. and Mrs. G. Purcell of Athens. Later Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery left on a motor trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls and various points. On their return they will reside near Frankville.

Marriage 1940 – Moore - Tullis 

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17th, the wedding of Miss Mary Eleanor Tullis to Mr. Cyril Clarke Moore was solemnized at the United church manse in Lanark by Rev, P. C. Lewis, The bride looked charming in a street length gown of rose sheer georgette, designed, on princess lines with white accessories. She wore a corsage of sweetheart roses and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Margaret Tullis, while Mr. Harry Moore, brother of the groom, acted as best man. After the ceremony, a dainty supper was served to the immediate families at the, bride's home in Drummond. The groom's gift to the bride was a handsome gold bracelet set with diamonds. The happy couple left on a short motor trip to several points in Western Ontario amid showers of congratulations and good wishes. The bride travelled in a golden yellow linene sport dress with smart Kolinski neck piece. On their return they will reside at Maberly where the groom is a prosperous young farmer.

Popular Carleton Place Girl Becomes Bride of N. McD. McGregor At St. James' Church.

Special to the Journal, CARLETON PLACE, Sept. 25. The, marriage of Catherine Velma Nichols daughter of William A. and the late Mrs. Nichols, to Neil McDiarmid McGregor, of Montreal, son of Mrs. McGregor and the late J. C. McGregor of Balderson, took place here this afternoon at 1 o'clock. St. James' Church was the scene of this charming wedding and Rev. G. G. Wright and Rev. Canon A. Elliott were the officiating clergymen. The decorations in the church were exceedingly attractive, cut flowers, palms and ferns being used in profusion. The service was fully choral and during the signing of the register, Miss Natalie McDiarmid sang sweetly, "O Promise Me." The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a beautifully modeled gown in mirror velvet, apricot shade, the moulded bodice extending into a close-fitting hipline, godet of matching lace inserted into the skirt, which fell to the ankles. A short matching jacket, finished with bow and rhinestone buckle, was also worn and a French picture hat of brown stitched velvet to match the gown. The bride's bouquet was Talisman roses and ferns and her only ornament worn was a white gold bracelet, a gift of the bridegroom. Mrs. George A. Clarke, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor and was gowned in brown lace, hat and shoes to match and carried an arm bouquet of bronze mums. The flower girl was little Miss Catherine Clarke, niece of the, bride, and was dainty in a pale peach georgette dress trimmed with rosebuds, pale peach to hat and carried a basket of assorted flowers. Nelson Thompson, of Ottawa, was best man and the ushers were Harry Umphrey, Lloyd Edwards, Tom and Billy Nichols. After the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served at the home of the bride's father, following which the happy young couple left on an extended motor trip to Western points. The bride travelled in a travel tweed crepe dress, brown hat and shoes to match and coat trimmed with fur. On their return they will take up residence at 291 Maplewood Avenue, Outremont, Quebec. Mrs. Nichols was gowned in a beige georgette costume with black hat and carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs. McGregor, mother of the bride­groom, wore; black crepe with black velvet, black hat and her bouquet was pansies. Included in the out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. George A. Clarke, Miss Catherine Clarke, Master Georgie Clarke and Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
