OBITUARY

WARNER CLIFFORD STANLEY - The funeral of Warner Clifford Stanley, well known resident, took place on Monday, Dec. 11, 1972, from the Kerry Funeral Rome, Almonte, where the service was held in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Brown of Clayton officiating. Interment in St. George's Cemetery, Clayton. Mr. Stanley passed away at Lanark Lodge, Perth, after a short illness on December 8, 1972. He was in his 82nd year. Born in Pakenham Township on September 5, 1891, he was a son of the late Edward Stanley and Elizabeth Whalen. He attended St. George's Anglican Church, Clayton. He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Rath, whom he married December 24, 1912. To this union was born one daughter, (Isabel) Mrs. Gordon Drynan, two sons, Keith, Almonte, and William, deceased. One sister, Mrs. William Ritchie; thirteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The pallbearers were six grandsons. Keith, Leonard, Brian, Robert and Carl Drynan and Glen Stanley. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Hudson, Norman Dunlop, Edgar Ritchie and Gary Hudson.

Rested at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, for service on Monday, September 17th, at 3 p.m. Interment Clayton United Cemetery.
Occasion of 35th Anniversary - On Friday, June 30th, the family of Isabel (Stanley) and Gordon Drynan honoured them with a reception on their 35th anniversary. Some 175 friends and relatives gathered in the Almonte Town Hall to help them celebrate. Among those were Gordon 's 87 year-old mother and Maurice Gilmour, who played the violin 35 years ago for Gordon and Isabel's wedding reception. Everyone enjoyed round and square dancing to music by The Western Ramblers. A very appropriate speech was given by Harvey Downey, who presented a money tree from all their friends. Carl Drynan gave them a gift from the family and a card. Shirley Neron read a plaque and presented it to them. Gordon gave a short "thank you" speech for all the gifts. Isabel thanked everyone for coming and the lovely time. Lunch was served and the evening was enjoyed by all. Out of town guests were from Ottawa, Stittsville, Lancaster, London, Carleton Place and Pakenham.

Clifford Warner Stanley, beloved husband of Annie Rath, dear father of Isabel (Mrs. Gordon Drynan), Keith, Almonte; predeceased by William. Dear brother of Jessie (Mrs. William Ritchie), Union Hall. Survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. In his 82nd year. Rested at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street. Almonte, where service was held on Monday, December 11th at 2 p.m. Interment St. George's Cemetery.
