Beloved husband of Nora Dodds (nee Flegal); dear father of Evelyn (Mrs. Latimer Forrest) of Stittsville, Walter Jr. and his wife Laverna of Renfrew, Wesley and his wife Monique of Arnprior, Marlin (Mrs. Trevor Small) of Stittsville, Lois (Mrs. Edward Rump) of R.R. 2, Carp, Barbara Hill of Kanata. Predeceased by one daughter Fern Watts. Dear brother of Kenneth Dodds of Pembroke, Ethel McLellan of Guelph and Nettie Duncan of Pakenham. Predeceased by 5 brothers, Ernie, Leonard, Gordon, Arthur and Wesley. Survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a grandson Douglas. STANLEY, Harold W. (Curdy) - Suddenly at his residence in Scarborough on October 6,1991. In His 70th Year. Harold, long-time dear friend of Jeannine Whyte and her daughter Kim and her children Kaylanne, Bradley and Jaydee, and Don and Jason Traill. He will be missed by his many friends whose lives he has touched. A Memorial Service will be held at Jerrett "Scarborough" Chapel, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough, on Wednesday, October 9, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. If so desired donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

ELLEN JANE DRYNAN

There entered into rest at the Almonte General Hospital, September 27, 1979, Ellen Jane Cochrane in her 96th year. In 1904 she was united in marriage to the late John Robert Drynan of Clayton. To this union was born two sons, Gordon H. of Almonte and J. Orville of Carleton Place. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Also one brother Thomas Cochrane of Almonte and one sister Eva, Mrs. J. Ryder of Brockville. The funeral was held Saturday, September 29th, from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, to Guthrie United Church, Clayton, for service, thence to United Cemetery. Many beautiful floral tributes and in memoriam's showed the esteem in which the deceased was held. The pallbearers were six grandsons: Keith, Leonard, Brian Robert, Carl, and Donald Drynan.

OBITUARY

WARNER CLIFFORD STANLEY - The funeral of Warner Clifford Stanley, well known resident, took place on Monday, Dec. 11, 1972, from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, where the service was held in the chapel at 2 p.m.. with Rev. Brown of Clayton officiating. Interment in St. George's Cemetery, Clayton. Mr. Stanley passed away at Lanark Lodge, Perth. after a short illness on December 8, 1972. He was in his 82nd year. Born in Pakenham Township on September 5, 1891, he was a son of the late Edward Stanley and Elizabeth Whalen. He attended St. George's Anglican Church, Clayton. He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Rath, whom he married December 24, 1912. To this union was born one daughter, (Isabel) Mrs. Gordon Drynan, two sons, Keith, Almonte, and William, deceased. One sister, Mrs. William Ritchie; thirteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Keith, Leonard, Brian, Robert and Carl Drynan and Glen Stanley. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Hudson, Norman Dunlop, Edgar Ritchie and Gary Hudson.

JOHN ROBERT DRYNAN

John Robert Drynan entered into rest Saturday, Aug. 5 after a lengthy illness at Almonte General Hospital in his 83rd year. He was a son of the late James Drynan and his wife Kathrine Kilgore. Born in Pakenham Township in 1879, he spent most of his life in Clayton district, held office in many community activities and was always ready to lend a helping hand. In 1904 he was united in marriage to Ellen Jane Cochran who survives also two sons, Gordon and Orville both of Almonte. Of a family of eleven only four survive namely George of London, Ont., Alex. Sunnydale, Sask., Violet (Mrs. Sd. Bryon) Windsor and Mary (Mrs. J. Kirk) Almonte. There are fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral was held Tuesday, Aug 8 from the home of his son Gordon Drynan to Guthrie United Church, Clayton, thence to the United Cemetery. Many beautiful floral tributes showed the esteem in which the deceased was held. Those from a distance were Mrs. J. Ryder, Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Art Edgerton, Morrisburg, Mrs. J. T. Armstrong of Newberry, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cox, Belleville, Mr. and Mrs. George Cox, Ottawa. The pallbearers were George Bolger, Alex Virgin, Clifford Stanley, W. M. Drynan, Edgar Hudson neighbours and Leonard Shane, a nephew of Gananoque. Flower bearers were Keith, Leonard, Brian and Robert Drynan, grandsons, Keith Thompson and James Gleason.

RICHEY - At the Almonte Nursing Home, Almonte, Ontario, on Saturday, September 8th, 1984. Jessie Stanley. Beloved wife of the late William Welland Richey. Dear mother of Margaret (Mrs. Lawrence Comba), RR 1, Kinburn and Olga (Mrs. Norman Dunlop), RR 2, Almonte. Predeceased by one son Edgar. Predeceased by three brothers William, Edmond and Clifford Stanley and four sisters Jane Anne (Mrs. William Drynan), Nellie (Mrs. Thomas Jackson), Elizabeth (Mrs. Emerson Dean) and Carrie (Mrs. Mac Richards). Also survived by, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In her 96th year. Friends called at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment St. Mark's Cemetery, Pakenham.
VINCENT LORNE FORD

The death of Mr. Vincent Lorne Ford of Maple Street, Almonte, occurred at Lanark Lodge, Perth, on Saturday, May 12, 1979, following a lengthy illness. He was 66. Born in Almonte on June 28, 1912, he was a son of the late Lester and Sarah Maude Ford, and received his education in Almonte schools. He was a moulder by trade and a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was married at St. Mary's Church, Almonte, on November 28, 1936, to the former Bernadette Dransfield, who predeceased him. He is survived by two sons, Robert James and Richard George of Almonte, and daughters, Mrs. Gwen Gallant, Stittsville, and Mrs. Gail Gallant and Miss Sylvia Ford of Almonte. Also surviving are a brother, Raymond (Curly) Ford, Almonte, and a sister, Mrs. Thelma Trotman, Carleton Place. The funeral was held from the Gamble and Comba Funeral Home, Church Street, Almonte, where service was conducted on Monday, May 14, at 2 p.m., Rev. E. Smith officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Gorman, Vincent Ring, Ray Clement, and grandsons Robert Gallant, Danny Gallant and Kevin Ford. Honorary pallbearers were Martin McGrath and Barry Featherstone.

SMITHSON - In hospital Almonte, Ontario on Friday, January 17th, 1992, Emma Amelia Hanneman formerly of Pakenham and Cedar Hill. Beloved wife of the late John Fulton Smithson. Dear aunt of Willard, Ramsay Twp; Desmond and Jack both of Almonte; Cameron, Langley, B.C.; Evelyn Gilchrist, Cobden; Carl Gilchrist, Cobden; Alice (Mrs. George McDonald), Renfrew; Bertha Inglis, Renfrew and numerous other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one niece Margaret Barr. In Her 96th Year. Friends called at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte. Funeral Service was in the Chapel on Monday. Rev. CAVANAGH - At the Almonte Nursing Home, Almonte, Ontario on Sunday January 19th, 1992. Edna Florence Wilson. Beloved wife of the late Wilbert Ernest Cavanagh. Daughter of the late Alfred Wilson and his wife the late Agnes Woods. Dear sister of Margaret (Mrs. Leonard Langstaff), Ottawa. Predeceased by two brothers George and Lorne Wilson and four sisters Violet (Mrs. Clayton Phelps); Laura Wilson; Isabel (Mrs. Herbert Bolger) and Madeline Wilson. RING, Allan Alexander - Suddenly in hospital at Almonte on Friday, December 20, 1991. Allan Alexander Ring of Almonte in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Jessie Martin and dear father of Vincent and his wife Romana of Verona, loving grandfather of Shenandoah, Sarah and Allan, brother of Arthur, Garry, Lawrence, Daniel, Carmel, Verna and Marlene. Friends called at the C.R. Gamble Funeral Home, 127 Church Street, Almonte. Service and committal complete was held in the Chapel with Rev. Ted Colwell officiating. Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery.
Jessie Richey

A long-time area resident, Jessie Richey, formerly of Cedar Hill, died at the Almonte Nursing Home on Sept 8th. She was 95. Mrs. Richey, the former Jessie Stanley, was born on Nov 2nd, 1888, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Whelan and the late Edward Stanley. She was educated at Cedar Hill School. On March 8th, 1911, she married William Welland Richey, also of Cedar Hill. They resided there until Mr. Richey's death on May 1st, 1943. In 1948, Mrs. Richey went to reside with her daughter at Union Hall and has lived there until two years ago, when she went to the Almonte Nursing Home. Mrs. Richey is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Lawrence Comba of RR 1, Kinburn), Olga (Mrs. Norman Dunlop of Union Hall) and is predeceased by a son Edgar and four sisters, Jane Ann (Mrs. William Drynan), Nellie (Mrs. Thomas Jackson), Elizabeth (Mrs. Emerson Dean), Carrie (Mrs. Mack Richards, also three brothers William, Edmond and Clifford. Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept 11 at 2 p.m., thence to St. Mark's Anglican cemetery in Pakenham. The service was conducted by Rev. McKenzie and Rev. P. Whyte. The pallbearers were Mel Cavanagh, Russell Lowe, Keith Stanley, Glen Johnston, Ron Berger and Howard Dunlop.

GILMOUR - In hospital, Almonte, Ontario on Sunday, January 12th, 1992. Orval Maurice Gilmour of Almonte and formerly of Lancaster, Ontario. Dear son of the late Gavin Gilmour and Charlotte Langstaff. Beloved husband of the late Myrtle Cavanagh by a first marriage and Mabel Macintosh by a second marriage. Dear father of Brian Gilmour, Summerstown, Ontario and Brenda of Kanata, Ontario. Survived by two sisters Muriel (Mrs. Wilfred Lindsay), Almonte; Kay (Mrs. Norman Hogg), Ottawa and one brother Lloyd of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Predeceased by three brothers Wilfred, Howard and Arnold. Age 81 Years. Friends called at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte. LOWRY, Samuel George - Life resident of the 9th line of Ramsay, Life member of the Almonte Presbyterian Church and Elder for over 50 years. S. George Lowry of Almonte in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Gertrude Gilmour, dearly beloved father of Edwin (Marian) of Almonte, Shirley Eastman of Mississauga, Marilyn (Mrs. Brian Kealey) and Lois (Mrs. Dave Drummond) both of Almonte and Irene (Mrs. Merv. Hilliard) of Carleton Place. Also survived and sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and by his sister-in-law Mrs. Mary Leishman. Friends called at the C.R. BOLGER, Kenneth Ross - At the Shaver Hospital on Thursday, December 12, 1991. In His 80th Year. Beloved husband of Florence and her children, Dianne Neilson, Doug McLachlan and Ila McLachlan. Also survived by sisters Annie Paterson and Olive Foster and brothers Willie Bolger and Howard Bolger. Mr. Bolger was employed with General Motors for 30 years, a Veteran of World War II and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. The Funeral was from the Hulse & English Funeral Home, St. Catharines, Ontario on Saturday, December 14, 1991. interment was in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
LEDINGHAM, Laura Maud (Leddy) - At Fairview Manor, Almonte, on Sunday, September 17th, 1978. Laura Maud (Leddy) McEwen of Almonte, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late W. A. Ledingham and dear mother of Mrs. Leonard McKay (Esther) of Almonte and W. A. (Bill) of Ottawa, Also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Rested at the Gamble & Comba Funeral Home, 127 Church Street, Almonte, where service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. R. J. McCrea officiating. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery.
KENNETH ROBERTSON

The death of Mr. Kenneth Paul Robertson, farmer, of the 2nd concession of Ramsay Township, occurred at the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 24, 1979, following a lengthy illness. He was 75. Born in Ramsay Township, July 20, 1904, he was a son of the late George Alexander Robertson and his wife, Jennie Paul. He received his education at Union Hall school and Kemptville Agricultural College. Mr. Robertson was a former president of the North Lanark Agricultural Society and a former member of the Ramsay Township Council. Interested in genealogy, he researched the Robertson family tree. He was a member of Guthrie United Church. He is survived by two brothers, George of Almonte and Archie, of Clawson, Michigan, and was predeceased by brothers Raymond and Russell. Also surviving are six nieces, Marilyn Snedden, Rosalyn Giles, Fern Martin, Diane and Sandra Robertson and Glenda Green. A memorial service was held at Guthrie United Church on Thursday, September 27, his remains having been donated to science.

THOMAS MELVILLE FOSTER

The death of Mr. Thomas Melville Foster of R.R.1, Almonte, occurred suddenly at his residence on Friday, March 3, 1978, in his 68th year. Born in Lanark Township, on June 30, 1910, he was a son of the late James Foster and his wife, Grace Scoular. He received his education in the township. Mr. Foster was employed as a laborer and was an attendant of Clayton United Church. He is survived by three sisters, Jessie (Mrs. John Munro); Margaret (Mrs. Gilbert Munro), both of Almonte, and Rebecca, Mrs. Harold Munro of Clayton. He was predeceased by three brothers, Roy, Irvine and Earnest and a sister Flossie. The funeral was held from the Gamble & Comba Funeral Home, Church Street, on Saturday, March 4, at 2.30 p.m., with spring interment at Clayton United Cemetery. Rev. A. Manson conducted the services. Pallbearers were Basil Munro, Bert Munro, Jackie Munro, Carol Foster, James Foster and Leslie Billings.
