Obituary Robert Orr died December 23, 1909 THE SIGNAL. Thursday, December 23, 1909 ORR: A very sudden death was that of ROBERT ORR, last Friday morning. Mr. Orr had not been in good health for some time, but was not laid up and, at the time of his death, he was sawing a piece of board. Heart failure was responsible for his end and death came so quickly that in the opinion of his doctor, life was extinct before he had fallen to the floor. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon to Maitland Cemetery, the service being conducted by the Rev. James A. Anderson. The pallbearers were the GRANDCHILREN of the deceased: AUSTIN CHISHOLM; LOUIS ORR; HERBERT ORR; ORLANDO DEAN; JOHN CHISHOLM AND FRANK CHISHOLM. Mr. Orr was born in County Down, Ireland and came to Canada as a young married man in his twenties. He settled in Goderich Township and had resided all his life in the township or in the town. His family consisted of four boys and five girls, of whom ONE SON, ROBERT ORR, OF MONO MILLS, CO. DUFFERIN, IS THE ONLY SURVIVING SON. The daughters are: MARY (Mrs. H. Thompson of Kalamazoo, Michigan; SARAH (Mrs. John Wilson) of Goderich; ESTHER (Mrs. P.T. Dean) of Goderich; AGNES (Mrs. Harbeck) of Buffalo and CHARLOTTE (Mrs. Smith) of Vancouver, B.C. The deceased's son, ROBERT and his grandson (a son of the late Rev. Jas Orr), Louis Orr, of London, were here for the funeral. The deceased as 78 years of age.
