About 1 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24th, a well-known South Bentinck resident, George A. Turnbull, was called to his reward, after a two weeks' illness resulting from a stroke. He was a remarkably healthy man all his life until late spring of this year when he suffered a heart condition and has since been unwell.
   The late Mr. Turnbull was in his 66th year, and was one of a family of four sons and one daughter, of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Turnbull of whom only his sister, Mrs. Jas. McRonald, Durham and one brother Thomas in Huntsville, Muskoka, survive. Another brother William passed away lately in Fort William. Deceased was born on his present farm, south line, Bentinck, which his father took up from the Crown, and has been a lifelong resident there.
   Thirty-eight years ago, he was wedded to Louisa Hill, also of Bentinck, who survives him, with two sons and a daughter, Mrs. Bert Barber (Mary) of Varney, John of Kingston, and Archie on the home farm.
   Deceased was a well read man, a successful farmer, and was held in the highest respect as a neighbor and friend. He was devoted to his family, who keenly fell his loss. He was a member of and regular worshipper at Knox United church, Durham. The funeral service will be conducted at the home in Bentinck, by his pastor, Rev. W. H. Smith at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 26th. Interment will be made in Maplewood cemetery.
