THOMAS N. MANN PASSES TUESDAY
Former Employee of City Parks  
  Commission Was in 82nd Year
An employee of the Parks Commission here for over twenty years, Thomas N. Mann, aged 81, passed away at his home, 1855 3rd Avenue West, on Tuesday evening. The late Mr. Mann had been ill for the past two weeks following a stroke.
   The deceased was born in Epsom, Surrey, England and came to Canada 62 years ago. He settled first at Markdale where he carried on his trade as gardener. He came to Owen Sound 33 years ago and worked for some 29 years for the Parks Commission at Queen’s Park. He retired four years ago.
   Mr. Mann was united in marriage in 1892 to Sarah Richardson of Flesherton. They lived in Markdale for several years before coming here. Besides his wife, Mr. Mann is survived by two daughters and one son: Hazel, Mrs. Edward Lynch and Pearl, Mrs. John Bartley, both of Dyer’s Bay and Reginald at home. A daughter, Mrs. John Noble, died on the 3rd of October, 1942, and a son, Horace, passed away eleven years ago. There are also five brothers and one sister living in Surrey in England. There are 14 grandchildren. The late Mr. Mann was a member of the First United Church.

Last Rites Held for Late Thomas N. Mann
The funeral of the late Thomas N. Mann, who passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, was held from his residence, 1855 3rd Ave. West, on Thursday afternoon. Rev. S. E. Annis of the First United Church was in charge of the service. The pall bearers were J. Kerr, Edward Kraft, Donald McDougall, W. Egremont, Wm. Pointon, Wm. Beard. A large number of friends and neighbors gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased. There were many floral tributes.

DIED
MANN --- In Owen Sound on Tuesday, December 21st, 1943, Thomas N. Mann, beloved husband of Sarah Richardson and loving father of Hazel (Mrs. Lynch), Pearl (Mrs. Bartley) both of Dyer’s Bay and Reg. of Owen Sound in his 82nd year. Remains resting at the Fulton Funeral Home until Wednesday afternoon then to his late residence, 1855 3rd Avenue West, where the service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment in Greenwood Mausoleum.

Married: Lynch -- Mann
A quiet wedding took place at the Mennonite parsonage, Ferndale, on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd, 1925, when Miss Hazel Mann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mann, of Owen Sound, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. Edward Lynch, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lynch of Dyer’s Bay. The ceremony was witnessed by the groom’s sister and Mr. Caesar. After the ceremony the bridal couple left for Dyer’s Bay, where they will reside.
