MR. GEORGE HAINES
MEAFORD EXPRESS (1927) - Mr. George Haines, a former well known resident of Meaford, died in Toronto last Friday. He had been in poor health most of the winter but had been seriously ill only about three weeks. Mr. Haines was in his 84th year and lived in Meaford the greater portion of his life.
He was born in Weston, Ontario and spent his early days there. He was a veteran of the American Civil War joining the Northern Forces as did any other young Canadians of the time. After the war he came to Meaford and engaged in his trade as a ..(remainder of article missing)
