OLDEST HEPWORTH RESIDENT IS DEAD
Mrs. Charles Cooper Passed   
Away Tuesday in Her 86th Year
HEPWORTH, Feb 8 --- The death of Mrs. Barbara Cooper, widow of the late Mr. Charles Cooper, which occurred at the home of her son, Mr. Ernest Cooper, here, on Tuesday morning, caused widespread regret throughout the village, as she was well and favorably known by everyone and held in high regard by those who were intimately acquainted with her. she was Hepworth’s oldest resident, being in her 86th year.
   The late Mrs. Cooper, whose maiden name was Miss Barbara Ede, was born at Epsom, Surrey, England, in 1847, and in 1885 came with her husband, the late Charles Cooper, to Canada, settling at Hope Bay, in the Bruce peninsula, where she resided until 11 years ago, when she came to Hepworth, and made her home with her son, Ernest. Her husband predeceased her 29 years ago.
   From a family of twelve children who were born in the Bruce peninsula, there survives seven sons and two daughters, namely: John, La Crosse, Wis.; Arthur, Wolsley, Sask.; Peter, Winnipeg, Man.; George, Colpoy’s Bay; Ernest, Hepworth; Harold, Hopeness; Mrs. John Lembke, Wolsley, Sask.; and Mrs. David Greig, Hepworth; also one sister, Mrs. Hicks, Epsom, Eng. There are 52 grandchildren and 37 great grand- children.
   A service, which was largely attended, was held on Tuesday evening at the home of her son, Ernest, at Hepworth, conducted by Rev. Thos. Hicks, Anglican minister, and the remains were taken to the home of her son, Harold, at Hopeness, and the funeral will take place at 2 o’clock on Friday afternoon, with interment in Eastnor cemetery. Rev. Mr. James, of Lion’s Head, will conduct the service there.
   Among the floral tributes were, gates ajar, from the Family; sprays from Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith, Clavering, and the Anglican church, Hepworth. Those from a distance who will attend the funeral on Friday will be Mr. Peter Cooper, Winnipeg, and Mrs. John Lembke, Wolsley, Sask.

Passes Away at Her Home   
Tuesday in Her 86th Year
HEPWORTH, Feb. 7 --- The death occurred at her home here on Tuesday morning, Feb. 7th, of Mrs. Barbara Cooper, in her 86th year. She was the wife of the late Charles Cooper.
   A service will be held at her late residence on Tuesday evening, Feb. 7th, at 7:30 p.m. and the remains will then be taken to the home of her son, Harold, at Hopeness where the funeral will be held on Thursday to Eastnor cemetery with the service at 2 p.m.
